How to enter the Academy

«How to enter the Academy?» To make the long story short,our applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong motivation to continue their education, they should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and be fluent in English.
A more elaborate answer to this question would look like this:

To be eligible to study in the Academy applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • University degree (Natural Science graduates – degrees in Physics and Mathematics, Oil and Gas graduates – degrees in Geology, E&P, Drilling);
  • high GPA/professional experience in Oil and Gas industry;
  • age 35 or younger;
  • excellent command of English;
  • Ambition to receive a prestigious degree from Britain’s leading university for Oil and Gas and get a well-paid job in the booming offshore sector in Russia and abroad.

To enroll in a competitive entry programme you should download from our website an application form, fill it out and send it to the email indicated in the form. During the first stage, applications are reviewed and evaluated. The following parameters are taken into account: GPA, industrial experience if any, motivation. The results of the first stage are emailed to the applicants.

During the second stage of the competition, applicants take tests in English and fundamentals of Oil and Gas (recommended literature for preparation is supplied beforehand) and are interviewed. During the interview in Russian and in English, the applicants are expected to demonstrate their motivation and professional background. Normally tests and interviews are held in the cities where significant numbers of applications came from.

Based on the results of the two stages, 30 applicants are enrolled in RGU’s MSc programme “Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering”.
